jpnn.com, JAKARTA – The SLE Foundation Care sent assistance in the form of 1,000 packages to residents affected by floods and landslides in several neighborhoods/districts of Parepare City, South Sulawesi Province (Sulsel), on Wednesday (February 22).

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Parepare City reported that floods and landslides struck the area on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. As a result, 5,292 residents from 1,345 households were affected, with dozens of houses damaged or swept away, while two residents were reported deceased.

Ali Zakiyuddin, the Chairperson of the SLE Foundation Care, stated that the team hopes the assistance can alleviate the burden of the victims.

“Together with the SLE Foundation Care team today, we are distributing 1,000 aid packages at several locations in Parepare City, hoping to ease the burden of the affected victims. The packages contain basic necessities and other essential items,” Ali said in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday (February 22).

He emphasized that this initiative is not related to any political movement or agenda but is purely a humanitarian effort.
