Clean Water Crisis in Plandaan Village

Plandaan Village has long faced a serious clean water crisis. During the dry season, the village's main water sources often dry up, forcing residents to rely on water sources that are not always clean or safe. This condition increases the risk of waterborne diseases and requires residents to travel long distances to obtain clean water. The crisis affects not only health but also disrupts daily life and the village's economic activities. Without consistent access to clean water, many families are forced to spend time and energy searching for water, time that could be used for other productive activities

What SLE Foundation and
Streams of Hope Organization
Have Done

Distribution of Quality Water Filters

More than 2,500 water filters have been distributed to the residents of Plandaan Village. These filters are designed to provide safe and affordable clean water, which is essential for public health. With these filters, the quality of daily-use water can be maintained, reducing the risk of diseases caused by contamination.

Installation of Filters in Public Places

Water filters were also installed in various public places such as schools, mosques, churches, and prayer rooms in the village. This step ensures the availability of clean water in locations frequently visited by the community, including children and families who need easy access to clean water.

Education and Training

In addition to distributing filters, the Streams of Hope team provided training to residents on the importance of water hygiene, as well as how to use and maintain the water filters to ensure maximum benefits. This training aims to increase public understanding of how to maintain water hygiene and properly use the filter technology

Why Is Clean Water Important?

Clean water is a vital basic need for human health and overall quality of life. Consuming clean water can prevent various waterborne diseases, such as diarrhea, cholera, and other gastrointestinal illnesses. Moreover, adequate access to clean water supports children's health, boosts immunity, and improves quality of life. In the long term, access to clean water also contributes to better education and economic development, as families do not need to spend long hours searching for water sources and can focus on other productive activities.

Positive Impact of the Clean Water Access Project

This project is expected to bring positive changes to more than 2,500 residents of Plandaan Village by improving their health and quality of life. With better access to clean water, the risk of waterborne diseases is expected to decrease, and the overall well-being of the community is expected to improve. This project also contributes to achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) related to clean water and sanitation access.

Testimonials and Stories from Residents

“We are very grateful for this assistance. Now, we can easily access clean water and no longer worry about the quality of the water we consume,” said one of the villagers. This testimony reflects the gratitude and satisfaction of the community for the support provided through this project.

Sustainable Initiative and Future Plans

As part of our commitment to sustainable development, SLE Foundation and Streams of Hope continue to monitor and evaluate the impact of this project. We plan to continue these efforts with regular maintenance programs and educational updates to ensure that the water filters continue to provide maximum benefits. Additionally, we will explore the possibility of expanding this project to other villages in need of clean water access.

Thank You

This project is just the first step toward a long-term solution for clean water issues in Plandaan Village. We hope that this effort will inspire more similar initiatives in other communities facing similar challenges. Access to clean water is not just about meeting basic needs but also about ensuring health, well-being, and a better future for the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who has supported and contributed to the success of this project. Let us continue to work together to create positive change and ensure that everyone has access to clean water and proper sanitation.
